Thomas Harvey  Groves
GROVES, Thomas Harvey August 1, 1951 – April 7, 2017.

After a long illness it is with heavy hearts that the Groves family announces the peaceful passing of Tom at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington in his 66th year.

Tom is predeceased by his parents Thomas Groves and May Groves, his stepmother Blanche Groves, and his siblings Dale Groves and Linda Newman.

Tom is survived by his siblings Wendy De La Franier and Debbie (Butch) Blagojevic.

As well, Tom is survived by his children Lawrence, Tammy (Robert), Teresa from his late wife Madeleine, his children Robert and Ashley from his wife Jane, and his children Brandon and Shannon from his wife Laura.

He is also survived by grandchildren Auston, Brandon, Christopher, Corrina, Deanna, Emily, Megan, Mikayla, Owen and Sarah. As well as, Great-Grandchildren Alainah, Jason, Kinsley and Liam.

Tom leaves behind many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family.

The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the professional care team at Joseph Brant Hospital, Hamilton General Hospital and Wesley Special Care Unit.

Tom had a varied work life but most notably he was a Toronto Transit Commission Operator for streetcars and later buses and performed his duties for the TTC out of Russell, Roncesvalles and Malvern Divisions.

Tom had been a resident of Wasaga Beach for a period of his life and it was his wish, which is being honoured by the family, to return and to be buried close to his brother in the Wasaga Beach Cemetery.

Family and Friends will be received at Carruthers and Davidson Funeral Home – Wasaga Bach Chapel, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach on Friday April 28, 2017 from 11;30 a.m. for the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 12:30 p.m. Burial to follow at the Wasaga Beach Cemetery.
