Marguerite Pearl  Jay
Jay, Marguerite (Marg) Pearl (nee Burgoyne), born June 8, 1935 in Hastings, Nova Scotia.
Died peacefully in her sleep on Friday October 6, 2017 at the Collingwood Nursing Home at the age of 82, of Wasaga Beach, Ontario. Beloved wife of Thomas Alexander Stanley Jay for over 61 years. Loving mother of Pearl (Penny) Rose Ebanks (nee Jay), Michael Thomas Jay and Michele Holly Jay. Cherished grandmother of Sharlene Nicole Hardie (Clifton Ward); Mathew Alcorn; Jacqueline Andrea Ebanks-Narciso (Brian Narciso); Michael Andrew Jay and the late Madacen Ainsley Jay. Great-grandmother of Uriel Abram, Malachi Logan and Azrael Phelan Hardie; Nichole Christina and Kaleb Kyle Koehler; and Arianna Grace Narciso. Great-great-grandmother of Finn Jay Lunde. All of Ontario. Loving sister of Frances Flo Arlette Burgoyne-Jackson (Bill Jackson) of Nova Scotia. Aunt of Charlotte Kay Patriquin (nee Graham) (late), Judith Arlette Marsh (nee Graham), Donna Lynn Graham and Deborah Anne Shipley (nee Graham), all of Nova Scotia; and of David Robert Jay of Ontario. Predeceased by her father Francis (Frank) Harding Burgoyne and mother Pearl Elizabeth Sarah Burgoyne (nee Silver). Marg loved her garden and butterflies. She was a generous and loving woman who will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Special thanks to the staff at the Collingwood Nursing Home and the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, for their tender care of Marguerite and kind support to the family. Grave side service on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 2:30 pm at the Springfield United Baptist Church cemetery in Nova Scotia. Reverend Sam Jess officiating. A memorial service will be held in Ontario at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
