Obituary for Marilyn Jane Kennedy-Ferri (Smith)

Marilyn Kennedy-Ferri (née Smith)
Passed away peacefully at Collingwood General & Marine Hospital on Sunday, January 20, 2019 in her 81st year. Cherished mom of Sherri (Robert) Pietrobono of Newmarket and Pamela (Michael) Card of Barrie. Marilyn was the Daughter of the late William Smith & Rhoda Johnson of Aurora/Queensville. Dearest Momma to Robert and Anthony Pietrobono of Newmarket, Caroline (Matthew) Rubinoff of Toronto and Michael (Paula) Card of Barrie. Great Grandma to Jack, Sam, Oliver and Beckett. Dear sister of Paul (Irene) Smith and Gary (Marion) Smith, Queensville. Predeceased by husbands Terry Kennedy and Raymond Ferri and her much loved son Robbie. Marilyn grew up in ‘The Valley’ known today as Jane & Eglinton. Her family grew vegetables and she worked in that Valley which later would become Smith Gardens/Season’s Best of Queensville. She moved to Wasaga Beach in the 60’s and together with her husband Terry opened a plumbing and heating business. After losing their son Rob in 1991 they moved to Stroud to be closer to family. After Terry passed away in 1998, a gentleman by the name of Ray contacted her. Ray had worked with Marilyn in the 60’s at AP Green. Ray would be her happiness for another 13 years as they settled in Wasaga Beach. We would especially like to thank Mrs. Florence Burns for all her friendship & kindness to my mom for the past couple of years, we will always love you. Family and friends will gather on Saturday, January 26th from 1 to 3 p.m. for treats and shared memories at 2000 Tiny Beaches Road South, Tiny, Ontario (Bayshore Seniors Club). In lieu of flowers, donations to Diabetes Foundation, Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation or Salvation Army will be appreciated.
